A new technique was hence introduced to enhance the retention of lower complete dentures. The technique adopted the atmospheric pressure concept and augmented its effect by incorporating a uni-directional valve in the denture flange. It also involved the incorporation of a rubber ribbon in the fitting surface of the denture to maintain the required peripheral seal. The technique was evaluated objectively through retention measurement using a digital forcemeter.
