Historical background about the Deanship
The library occupied its temporary headquarters in 1385 AH/1965G in an apartment in Prince Mansour bin Abdulaziz Building at the end of Qabil Street, which intersects with King Abdulaziz Street. On 4/7/1387H/July 25, 1967G, the Central Library officially took up residence in the first building of the Faculty of Economics and Administration occupying an area of just 50 square meters, the library contained 10,228 volumes, of which about 5,000 volumes were gifts from dignitaries in the city of Jeddah.
