Policy of Journals

Journals are one of the important sources of information particularly in the academic libraries that gives a specific attention for scientific journals in different fields. The journal is a typed publication released in a sequential number in certain time usually every week, month ,season or every year. It has the same title in all of its volumes and published by groups of writer. Journals are very important especially for academic library as it considered to be the head for other groups.

The beneficiaries from inside and outside the university uses the journals for their research, The journals includes:

  • Scientific Arabic journals
  • Scientific foreign journals: these journals has been cancelled and changed to electronic journals subscribed through the library deanship which provide full texts.
  • Daily newspaper
  • Old newspaper archives
  • Public culture magazine

The service in this section is done by:

  • Guiding the beneficiaries on how to use journals
  • Reading journals are only allowed inside the hall
  • Borrowing journals outside the hall is not allowed
  • It is acceptable to copy journals only inside the library
  • The availability of bibliographic lists for the beneficiary to use

Providing informational services for beneficiaries is done by:

  • Guides the beneficiaries to reach to the required journals by searching from the automatic Index by the name of journal, the barcode and the available number from the journal.
  • Help the researcher to get the required articles by using
  • Getting the article of journals for the researcher who has an abstract of scientific articles from databases.
