Imaging policy

      King Abdul-Aziz University represented by the Deanship of Library Affairs is pleased to present this regulation to the pioneers of the Central Library and its branches in order to identify the systems and rules of imaging and anything related to this services. The Dean introduces these rules and those systems to the reader in hopes that it is giving the beneficiary a comprehensive picture of principles and rules of the offering of information services for each beneficiary of this great model.                   

First/ permitted imaging material:

All items bearing the seal of King Abdul-Aziz University.

Second / materials not permitted:
  • Documents and Publications personal and private papers.
  • Lectures and memos written by hand or typewriter.
  • Originally printed or manuscripts or those that did not take a statement from the Department of manuscripts based on the rules of filming manuscripts.
  • Dissertations and PhD at King Abdul-Aziz University unpublished except with the permission of their authors.
  • More than 25 pages of single pages of a book at a time.
  • Any other materials of the Deanship of Library Affairs are not to be copied.
Third / people authorized to copy:
  • Staff of the university and its students.
  • Researchers and organizations from outside the university.
Fourth / General provisions:
  • Imaging fees paid in advance in cash for Imaging section, remittances are accepted if the imaging request is from a scientific party.
  • Mentioned fees are subject to change according to circumstances.
Fifth / imaging manuscripts rules:
  • Fill up the form for requesting studied imaging manuscripts by the manuscripts department.
  • For a graduate student at King Abdul-Aziz University he must bring an official letter from the supervisor of the thesis and supported with its specific needs of the manuscript and the purpose to be copied.
  • For the researcher, who belongs to the institution or any other scientific institution, whether inside or outside the Kingdom he must apply for copying the manuscript, which in turn sends an official letter stating the need for a researcher of the manuscript and the purpose of the imaging with the exception of the faculty members of King Abdul Aziz University.
  • For the other categories, the researcher should prove his identity and scientific expertise and determine the need for and purpose of copying the manuscript, and displays it to the Dean of Library Affairs for action.
