Reference Service

     It is to provide all sources of reference information and help to direct beneficiaries of the library through answering their questions and get the information as quickly as possible with less effort, and develop appropriate solutions to the problems facing them in any subject. All reference sources in Arabic are symbolized by the letter (m) and for all foreign reference sources are symbolized with the letter (R) of which appears above your special reference number. You can also identify these materials through the Library Catalog via these steps:

  • Availability of reference sources for the beneficiaries of the library in the reference hall.
  • لIt is not allowed to remove the reference sources from the department only after taking the permission from the references administrator.
  • Providing electronic reference sources and make them available to users through the terminals within the reference section.
  • Answering the inquiries of beneficiaries.
  • Provide a program to train students to use all tools and sources of reference (Dictionaries- Encyclopedias- bibliographies ... etc.), and train them on how to get information from them .
  • Preparing lists of processed objective bibliographic and make it available for the beneficiaries.
  • Provide logistic services of documents through scanning technique where the official auditor helps the pioneers in using the scanner to transfer what they need from images of the printed form into electronic format according to intellectual property laws.
  • Providing printing service for reference sources and make it available to beneficiaries to use them in the library after taking a printing permit from the official auditor while presenting their university identification card.
  • Provide reference information services by filling out a reference information request form or respond to inquiries of beneficiaries by telephone, fax or by e-mail and in personal service.
  • It is allowed to reserve references for the teaching staff members on reserved shelves time according to their needs.
  • It is allowed to burrow references for faculty members and graduate students in accordance with the following procedures:
    1. Fill out a lending references form.
    2. Take a copy of the beneficiary personal card.
    3. Granted permission for the beneficiary permit.
    4. Reference borrowed on Thursday from the end of work hours until the beginning of work hours on Sunday.
    5. It is not allowed to delay the return of references. If it is delayed the beneficiary is alerted and denied of borrowing references.
